Schedule of Events

 

 

REMINDER: Dress Code as per NHSRA guidelines is required, please refer to your rulebook to make sure you are familiar with what it says.  1 hour prior to the start of your division of rodeo until 1 hour after the conclusion of your division of rodeo, SHSRA members are required to be in Dress Code. If you are helping in the arena, Dress Code is required.  If you are an SHSRA member and you are near the arena, or in the Grandstands, you are required to be in Dress Code even if it is not your performance.  Back Numbers are to be worn at all times on your back and be visible.  If you are a JR you are expected to help with the senior rodeo.  If you are a SR you are expected to help with the JR rodeo, in multiple events, including both boys and girls events.  As a member you are expected to respect directors, event directors (both student and adult), queen and princess.  If a request is made of you by a director, queen or princess, and you refuse to comply with request to help at the rodeo or regarding following rules, back numbers can be taken to the office, recorded and rodeo points can be taken away for non compliance.

 

 

Thursday May 30

 

3:00pm – Queen written exam

4:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Junior High Registration @ Rodeo Office

5:30 pm – Junior High Mandatory Meeting & Roll Call

All Junior High members must be in attendance on the South Bleachers and in Dress Code.  Please wear your new SHSRA team shirts (that are provided at registration) for the photo. 

6:00 pm – Grand Entry and Introduction of the Queen Contestants.

6:15 pm – 8:30 pm – 1st Junior High Finals Performance

Student Event Directors need to be in the Arena during your event except when you are competing.

8:30pm – Queen personal interviews

 

 

Friday May 31

 

The Concession is Open all Day & serving breakfast

 

7:00 am – 8:00 am – Rodeo Office is Open for Registration

8:30 am – High School Mandatory Meeting & Roll Call

            All High School members must be in attendance on the South Bleachers and in Dress Code.  Please wear your new SHSRA Team shirts (that are provided at registration) for the photo. 

9:00 am – Grand Entry and Introduction of the Queen Contestants.

9:00 am – 1:00 pm – 1st High School Finals Performance

Student Event Directors need to be in the Arena during your event except when you are competing.

2:00 pm – 2:15 pm – Grand Entry and Introduction of the Queen Contestants.

2:15 pm – 6:30 pm – 2nd Junior High Finals Performance

            Student Event Directors need to be in the Arena during your event except when you are competing.

7:00 pm – Season Leader Buckle Presentations, Graduation, & Queen speeches, modelling & impromptu question, Dance for Everyone. Election of student executive and event directors.

 

 

Saturday June 1

 

The Concession is Open all Day & serving breakfast

 

8:45 am – Grand Entry and Introduction of the Queen Contestants.

9:00 – 11:00 am – Short go in the Junior High Performance.

            Featuring the Top Ten in each event. Student Event Directors need to be in the Arena during your event except when you are competing

Queen Horsemanship Pattern will be the fourth event in this performance.

11:45 am – 1:30 pm – Junior High Year end and Finals Awards Ceremony in Pavilion.

All Award Recipients must be present to receive their award and must be in dress code with back numbers.  You will receive your award from the President/Queen and proceed outside for pictures with the National Director. There are thank you cards that each recipient must sign.

1:30 pm -  Junior High National & Canadian Registration @ Pavilion.  The Contestants that finish in the top 4 in each event qualify to go to Nationals in Huron, South Dakota and top 5 in each event qualify to go to Canadians in Merritt, BC. Each member that is entering must complete the paperwork and sign it along with both parent’s signatures BEFORE you leave the SHSRA Finals.  There will be people in the Pavilion set up to assist you filling in the forms before and receiving payment.  There are limited forms available so fill them in carefully and legibly.

(Please keep in mind that we can roll down to the 8th position, if someone in the top 4 elects not to go to Nationals.  If you finish in the top 4 and elect not to go, please find the next eligible contestant and let them know so they can begin the process of entering.  For Canadian, we will roll until event is filled within our Province.)

2:30 pm. – Grand Entry and Introduction of our Queen Contestants.

2:30 pm – 7:00 pm – 2nd Performance of the High School Division

 

 

Sunday June 2

 

The Concession is Open all Day & serving breakfast

 

10:00 am – 10:15 am - Grand Entry and Introduction of our Queen Contestants and crowning of the 2019-2020 Queen.

10:15 am – 12:15 am – Short go for the High School Division

            Featuring the Top Ten in each event.

Student Event Directors need to be in the Arena during your event except when you are competing

 

12:30 pm – 2:00 pm – Year End and Finals Awards Ceremony in Pavilion.

2:00 pm – High School Registration for Nationals & Canadians. Top 4 in each event qualify for Nationals in Rock Springs WY and the Top 5 qualify for Canadians in Merritt. Each member that is entering must complete the paperwork and sign it along with both parents’ signatures BEFORE you leave the SHSRA Finals.  There will be people in the Pavilion set up to assist you filling in the forms before proceeding to the Rodeo Office for final check over and receiving payment.  There are limited forms available so fill them in carefully and legibly.  We will roll down to 24th position to fill a team to go to Silver State International Rodeo. All forms for Silver State are found online and can be filled out and sent in on your own. There is a deadline, so don't delay. It’s a fantastic opportunity. It is held in Winnemucca, Nevada June 30- July 6, 2019.

 

                (If you are in the Top Ten, please go to the Rodeo Office to pick up the entry packages. Please keep in mind that we can roll down to the 8th position, if someone in the top 4 elects not to go to Nationals.   The top 5 in Canadians and roll to fill the team until event is filled. If you finish in the top 4 or 6 and elect not to go to one or the other, please find the next eligible contestant and let them know so they can begin the process of entering.)

Twin Curves Arena

There will be a reined cowhorse competition at the Twin Curves Arena with Mike Belof on March 29-30th.  Please contact Juanita Esmond for details. Clinic will run on the 30th from 9-1:00pm.  Qualifier will start at 2:00pm.

Beaver Creek Ranch

There will be a reined cowhorse event at the Beaver Creek Ranch at Lumsden March 15-17th.  Clinician will be Taylor Douglas with competition to follow. Qualifier competition will be held on the 17th.  Please contact Juanita Esmond for details.
